The Rehabilitation Services (RS)
is the tertiary program of the Philippine Mental Health Association.
It operates a community based activity center called “Work Center”
that provides holistic therapeutic program and a sheltered workshop
that provides work placement for persons with mental disabilities
(consumers) and children with special needs.
The Work Center also serves as a
training center for Social Work and Occupational Therapy students.
What are the RS objectives?
The Rehabilitation Services aims to:
Provide work placement for the mentally
handicapped (consumer) that cannot be absorbed in open employment.
Provide vocational skills training to the
consumer’s optimum capacity for them to become productive and self-reliant
members of society.
Provide holistic therapeutic program that
will help restore, improve, and maintain the psychosocial functioning of
the consumers so they may resume their roles as participating members of
their respective families and communities.
Provide consumers with additional income
through various income-generating projects.
