EVENTS Dear Colleagues: Peace be with you! The Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) will spearhead the celebration of the 59th National Mental Health Week and 18th World Mental Health Day, with the Global theme, “Mental Health in Primary Care: Enhancing Treatment and Promoting Mental Health,” and sub-theme, “Bringing Harmony to Family and School by Understanding Your Children’s Behavior.” We will be having a lecture-forum to be held on October 9, 2009, Friday at 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Chief Justice Roberto Conception Memorial Hall, PMHA Compound, 18 East Avenue, Quezon City, with the renowned Clinical Psychologist Leticia Peñano-Ho, Ph.D. as our resource speaker. The lecture-forum aims to promote awareness on the importance of integrating mental health in primary health care system and the vital role of the primary health care providers (e.g. mental health workers, guidance counselors, teachers, etc.) in the promotion of mental health especially among our children and youth. For this particular forum, we would like to focus on the early detection and adequate management of behavioral problems among children especially in the schools and institutions. In this regard, we would like to invite you and your friends to attend the lecture-forum. The non-refundable but transferable registration fee will cover materials, certificate of attendance, and snacks.
